The Harry C. Mathias, Sr. Charitable Foundation announces fall 2025 grants to the following organizations:
–$2,000 to the Exchange Swimming Pool/Northern Montour County Recreation Association
–$1,000 to the Watsontown Police Chief Carl Reed Christmas Fund
–$1,000 to Neighbors Helping Neighbors
–$500 to the Penitent Souls Christmas Gift Fund
–$1,000 to the Warrior Run High School Scholarship Fund to fund three scholarships: $500 to a college bound student majoring in the trades or education; and two $250 scholarships to the female and male outstanding leadership award.
–$500 to the Warrior Run Food Pantry
–$500 to the Watsontown Historical Association

March 2, 2023–For the second year, the Harry C. Mathias, Sr. Charitable Foundation will be part of the annual “Raise the Region” fundraising campaign put on by the First Community Foundation. This fundraiser will occur from 6:00PM on Wednesday, March 8 until midnight on Thursday, March 9. November 13, 2022–The Foundation Board is pleased to announce our fall grant recipients. The Foundation is awarding $2,000 to the Exchange Pool through the Northern Montour County Recreation Association. We also wish to thank the First Community Foundation Partnership and its sponsors for developing the Raise the Region event. Our foundation received $5,778.57 in donations through 18 donors. It is our plan to be back as part of Raise the Region in 2023!

January 15, 2022–The Harry C. Mathias, Sr. Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the First Annual HCM Baseball Camp. The camp will be held at Warrior Run High School on Saturday, January 29. High School students will take part in the morning with Little/Teener League (pre-HS) taking part in the afternoon. The camp will feature hitting instruction.

To the Warrior Run High School Scholarship Fund–to provide for The Harry Mathias Sr. Leadership Award–two $250 scholarships (one girl and one boy) for the senior students providing leadership abilities consistent with the values of Warrior Run High School; and a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior pursing postsecondary training in the trades or the field of education.
