–$2,000 to the Exchange Swimming Pool/Northern Montour County Recreation Association
–$1,000 to the Watsontown Police Chief Carl Reed Christmas Fund
–$1,000 to Neighbors Helping Neighbors
–$500 to the Penitent Souls Christmas Gift Fund
–$1,000 to the Warrior Run High School Scholarship Fund to fund three scholarships: $500 to a college bound student majoring in the trades or education; and two $250 scholarships to the female and male outstanding leadership award.
–$500 to the Warrior Run Food Pantry

The Foundation Board is pleased to announce their Fall/Winter round of grants for 2021. The Foundation is awarding $5,000 to the Exchange Pool through the Northern Montour County Recreation Association. The Foundation also is granting $500 to the Watsontown Police Chief Carl Reed Christmas Fund. Finally, the Foundation announces grants for $1,500 to the Warrior Run School District. These include a $250 grant to the Defender Trading Post, $250 to the Warrior Run SD Food Pantry and $1,000 to the Warrior Run Scholarship Fund to fund: The Harry Mathias Sr. Leadership Grant (two $250 scholarships–one female and one male–to the graduating seniors who exhibit leadership skills consistent with the values of Harry Mathias and a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior entering the trades or the field of education.

PREVIOUS GRANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: In April 2021, the Foundation Board approved funding for the Exchange Pool, The Watsontown United Methodist Church’s Kids Cafe Program, The Warrior Run High School Scholarship Fund, Penitant Souls and The Montgomery House Library.
Specifically, the Foundation desired to assist the Exchange Pool for a swimming lesson program and with general operational costs. The Foundation provided funding for the Kids Cafe program for operational or supply needs. The Warrior Run High School received scholarship funds as follows: For the Harry C. Mathias, Sr. Leadership Award: Two $250 scholarships (one girl and one boy) for the senior who displayed leadership qualities consistent with the values of Warrior Run High School; and one $500 scholarship for a student pursuing post secondary training in the trades (or the field of education if no such graduate exists); The Montgomery House Library gift is to assist in the delivery of a summer reading program for students; and the Penitant Souls gift is to support the needs of disabled children.
